Xiaomi Mi 5X global launch set for September 5
Xiaomi's dual-camera flagship, the Mi 5X, was introduced in China about one month ago, but the smartphone is not available in other countries. Although Xiaomi sells many of its smartphones in India and other Asian countries, some remain China-exclusive.
But the Xiaomi Mi 5X will not remain China-exclusive for too long since the handset vendor announced it will expand its availability globally starting September 5. Xiaomi recently teased a special event for that date, where it says a “flagship dual camera” device will be launched globally.
Although the launch event will be held in New Delhi, India, we're convinced the Mi 5X will be available in other countries as well. We're also expecting the smartphone to be slightly more expensive than the Chinese version which costs around $220.
Xiaomi Mi 5X boasts two 12-megapixel main cameras on the rear side, as well as we 5-megapixel selfie camera. It comes equipped with a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM and either 32GB or 64GB internal storage (up to 128GB).
The phone runs MIUI 8.5 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Lastly, Xiaomi Mi 5X sports a 5.5-inch display with full HD (1080p) resolution and packs a 3,080 mAh battery.
